The new Datejust II perpetuates its vintage forerunner into modern times by offering a larger case and updated movement. The Monobloc middle case is highly waterproof and utilizes a screw-down case back and winding crown. These components give the watch a waterproof rating up to 100 meters or 300 feet. Though it is not considered a diving watch, its durability allows it to be submerged in water with no effect on the watch. Inside, the watch utilizes a caliber 3136 perpetual, self-winding, mechanical movement. This movement powers center hour, minute, and seconds hands on the dial as well as an instantaneous date with rapid- setting. Located at the 3 o’clock mark, the date window, with iconic cyclops aperture, changes instantaneously at midnight so the wearer always knows both the time and date.
